Scuba Diving in the Palk Bay, Rameswaram

The Palk Bay is one of the last remaining habitats for green sea turtles & dugongs on mainland India. Humpback dolphins are also commonly found in this region. Additionally, sea cucumbers, sea stars and sea horses were commonly found here, much of which have been lost to illegal wildlife trade. Bamboo sharks, sting rays, sea anemones and Clark’s anemonefish are other common indigenous marine species. A wide variety of mollusks are present in the region – from attractive cephalopods (octopus, cuttlefish), to minuscule nudibranchs, seahorses and a huge diversity of gastropods.

Your first scuba diving experience

Discover Scuba Diving (DSD)

If you just want to have an overview of scuba diving or if you just want a fun day out, the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program is made for you! This easy introduction allows you to experience the thrill of diving under the care and close supervision of a PADI professional. You will learn the principal safety guidelines and skills required for this experience.
This discover program includes PADI professional, equipment rental and shower facilities. 

To participate in this program you must be at least 10 years old and have basic medical health and fitness.
No prior dive experience or swimming required. It’s safe, it is easy and it is a lot of fun!

You have a choice of either doing a shore dive or a boat dive (weather dependent).

Shore Dive: INR 4,500 + 18% GST - 2 hours
Boat Dive: INR 6,500 + 18% GST - 3 hours
Add an extra dive: INR 4000 + 18% GST

PADI SCUBA DIVING COURSES

Become a certified diver or continue your dive education with these PADI courses and programs.

PADI Scuba Diver

This course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you are short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you, particularly if you expect to go scuba diving primarily with a PADI Professional. This course is a beginner step for earning an Open Water Diver certification, if that is your ultimate goal. As a PADI Scuba Diver you will be qualified to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional to a maximum depth of 12 metres. Thereafter you can continue dive training by completing the PADI Open Water Diver certification.

The course includes a PADI professional, equipment rental, training materials, training session in confined waters, 2 open water dives, PADI certification upon successful completion, refreshments and shower facilities. 

To participate in this course, you must be at least 10 years of age, adequate swimming skills, be able to float for 10 minutes without any support, basic medical health and fitness and have a medical declaration form signed in advance.

Flying after your dive: An 18-hour interval is recommended after your last dive session before flying. Please ensure you do not have any flight planned within 18-hours of completing your dive session with us.

PADI OPEN WATER DIVER

Get your scuba diving certification with the most recognised and reputed organisation - PADI. Thousands of people have learned to scuba dive and gone on to discover the wonders of the aquatic world through this beginner course.

The PADI Open Water Diver course is 4 days long and in these days you will learn how to set up your scuba equipment, donne your gear and learn all the necessary skills required for you to become a certified diver. You will also be tested in open waters on the skills you learnt before getting your PADI certification.  

The course includes a PADI professional, equipment rental, training materials, training session in confined waters, 4 open water dives, PADI certification upon successful completion, refreshments and shower facilities. 

To participate in this course, you must be at least 10 years of age, swim unaided for 200 metres OR must be able to swim with snorkelling gear for 300 metres, be able to float for 10 minutes without any support, basic medical health and fitness and have a medical declaration form signed in advance.

PADI PEAK PERFORMANCE Buoyancy

Excellent buoyancy control is what defines good scuba divers. Divers glide effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover almost as if by thought. The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course improves the buoyancy skills you learned as a new diver and elevates them to the next level. 

The 1 day course includes a PADI professional, equipment rental, training materials, 2 open water training dives, PADI certification upon successful completion, refreshments and shower facilities. 

To participate in this course, you must be at least 10 years of age and have a PADI open water or equivalent) rating, basic medical health and fitness and have a medical declaration form signed in advance.

PADI DIGITAL UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY

Create memories that last a lifetime through photographs by capturing those breathtaking moments that you experienced underwater. Digital cameras have made it easy to take a look at what you have captured right after or even during your dive!

The PADI Digital Underwater Photography course includes open water dives where you can explore the underwater world with a camera! This is where you will put into practice the tips and techniques you learned through your course.
This course is designed for both, people with experience shooting above the surface and people who have never photographed anything before.

The 1 day course includes a PADI professional, equipment rental, training materials, 2 open water training dives, PADI certification upon successful completion, refreshments and shower facilities. 

To participate in this course, you must be at least 10 years of age and have a PADI open water or equivalent) rating, basic medical health and fitness and have a medical declaration form signed in advance.

PADI NIGHT DIVEr

Have you explored your favourite dive sites at night?  Introduce yourself to a whole new cast of critters who appear only after the sun goes down. Guided by your dive torch observe all the colours that appear at night under a different light. In this PADI Speciality Course you will learn how to plan & prepare for diving at night while gaining experience with the different equipment used at night.

The 1 day course includes a PADI professional, equipment rental, training materials, 3 open water training dives, PADI certification upon successful completion, refreshments and shower facilities. 

To participate in this course, you must be at least 12 years of age and have a PADI open water or equivalent) rating, basic medical health and fitness and have a medical declaration form signed in advance.

PADI RESCUE DIVER

The PADI Rescue Diver course teaches you techniques to manage and avoid problems and improve your overall confidence as a scuba diver. During the course you will become a better buddy by enhancing your ability to identify potential risks/problems and by practising dive emergency protocol. The subject is serious but the training is extremely fun – many divers tell us that the PADI Rescue Diver course was their favourite! 

This 3 day course includes a PADI professional, equipment rental, training materials, 3 open water training dives, PADI certification upon successful completion, refreshments and shower facilities. 

To participate in this course, you must be at least 12 years of age, must have an Adventure Diver/Junior Adventure Diver (or qualifying certification) with completed Underwater Navigation Dive; EFR Primary and Secondary Care training (or qualifying training) within 24 months, basic medical health and fitness and have a medical declaration form signed in advance.

PADI DIVEMASTER

If you have always wanted to have a profession in diving the PADI Divemaster course is the first step towards your goal. The PADI Divemaster course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities. Learn to assist on PADI courses under the supervision of a PADI Instructor & become a PADI professional.
PADI Divemaster course | 15 days. The Divemaster training program only (no additional dives are included in the program). This includes the training and gear rental for the course. It does not include accommodation, food, and other personal expenses or anything not mentioned herein. We recommend this course ONLY for experienced divers who have logged way more than 60 dives. Do not jump into the course without the experience built up through specialty courses and logged dives.

Divemaster Internship program | 60 days. During this period, you will be working at Quest Academy as an intern, helping the dive professionals & instructors with their day-to-day tasks. In addition you will also help out in the day-to-day running of the academy and other sports we operate here giving you more exposure and experience in other aquatic adventures as well. This includes the divemaster training, 20 logged dives, gear rental and complimentary accommodation in the mixed dormitory for the duration of the course. It does not include food, other personal expenses or anything not mentioned herein.

The course also includes a PADI Instructor, equipment rental, training materials, training session in confined waters, 2 open water dives, PADI certification upon successful completion, refreshments and shower facilities.

Divemaster courses can be done anytime during our dive season between March to September. We customise your courses for you.
