Women in Adventure
Ayesha Lobo started sailing in early 2000's as a fun Hobie but the sport fascinated and gave the opportunity to use her competitive streak. Started competing at a young age of 11 and went for her first international event at 13. This was an a eye opener as it started the long line of upcoming international events and training. Selected for the nations cup and multiple grade one events but not being able to compete because of lack of funding, she along with her father and sister started up discover sailing to not only give back to the sort by teaching people sailing at affordable rates but also raising money for the women’s team to compete internationally. The school has developed over 75 keel boat races and helped 200+ dingy sailors. The sailing school not only teaches sailing but also does team building for corporates, race training , windsurfing, ocean clean up drives, underprivileged opportunities, international sailing weeks and now sailing wellness too. We aim to take our students to the level they want.
Ayesha currently works on a lot of Ngo projects in spreading awareness for girl education and why we need to respect our oceans. Last year she sailed with the maiden project across the Indian Ocean!
