SUP clubs in India

The Format

The Format

The JD&AV Groms Quest follows a simple and impactful format designed to identify and nurture young Stand Up Paddle (SUP) athletes across India. Each event begins with a one-day workshop led by certified International Surfing Association (ISA) trainers and national-level SUP instructors, introducing participants to ocean safety, paddle techniques, and board handling. The day concludes with selection trials, where top performers are chosen for sponsored advanced training programs and entry into the next level of competition. The pathway progresses from clubs to district, state, and national levels, creating a clear, merit-based ladder for grassroots athletes. This structure ensures that young paddlers from coastal and inland communities get equal opportunities to represent their regions, supported by Surfing Federation of India (SFI) and state surfing associations. The Groms Quest is not just a competition—it’s a nationwide movement to build a sustainable SUP ecosystem in India, empowering youth through sport, skill, and coastal connection.
